To all my facebook friends .....

Kindly note - I only play app games when my grandson
forces me to
‘Cause it’s not something I like to do
I can find a lot more interesting ways to use my time
But if you like these games then that’s fine

But game requests please do not send to me
Because I will ignore them as you will see
They leave me cold I would rather read a book
But I don’t blame you if you are hooked

I do have some games on my kindle I admit
But it’s for the benefit of my grandson - he uses it
You will not catch me playing a game on facebook - Oh no
Because as I have said before game requests sorry I just
don’t want to know

Where is Spring?

The first day of Spring has come and gone
but no spring flowers are blooming or birds singing
spring songs
Winter has returned well did it ever go?
Easter is now the new Christmas you know

The trees are still bare no leaves shooting through
Our gardens are sad as no spring planting can we do
Who wants to look at the shops summer fare?
Not me at the moment it’s too cold to care

Indeed leaving the house holds little pleasure
The warmth of inside is now a thing to treasure
Well you may think tasks inside could be done
But NO  it makes us lethargic when there is no sun

Remember Mother's Day

Mother’s day is early this year
So do not forget to show you care
March 10th is the date so do not forget
Because you only have a few days left

Flowers, chocolates - shops making the most
It’s a big day of the year for retail to host
Nice for mums but difficult for offspring
An extra birthday present to bring

The very special presents for me
Were the handmade gifts when my children were wee
The pride in their faces when giving their gifts
What a wonderful thing to give you a lift

So mothers it’s a special day for you
and kids, I know, it’s another chore to do
But remember you only have one mum
and she will always be your very best chum

My Sister's Birthday

Today I am so very sad that you are not here with me

Because today was your birthday so I am sad as sad can be

You looked forward to my retirement to spend more time with me
but you never got to see that day how cruel life can be

You were always very happy to go anywhere with me
and I think about this when I visit somewhere I know you would
like to be
I hear myself saying “our Anne would of enjoyed this” I know
So I have a bit of sadness that never seems to go

To lose your only sibling is as difficult as can be
Now no parents, brother sister only me you see
Life passes very quickly more so the older that you get
You do not think it possible? well wait awhile because you
obviously are not there yet

So my dearest sister if there is a place that you may be
I hope that you are listening and that you can see
I think about you often especially on days such as these
In my heart you are with me and I take you many places still you see

Is James Coming Out to Play

I heard a little tap on my front door today
I opened it and a small voice said is
James coming out to play
I tried to explain James did not live here
But he looked up at me and it did not seem clear

I tried to explain James came to stay
Because his own home was a distance away
So when he visited his Nana he would happily
like to play
But that would not be today

The little face looked blankly up at me
I could not seem to make him see
I heard his mummy call to him to come away
So I explained to her James is not here today

Eating Horsey Horsey?

Burger King, McDonalds and now Findus
Don’t they know in Britain eating horses ain’t for us
They may like to eat it in their foreign cuisine
But here in good old blighty it’s just not our scene

They tell us it’s tender and less fatty than beef
But then add horses are injected with drugs
which ain’t good to eat
In Britain horses are reared for folk to ride
Not produced to be fed to us on the side

But folks I have a simple answer to this
Oh yes it’s simple just cook your own dish
Then you will know what goes inside of you
and by the way it’s a lot cheaper too.

Facebook

How are you doing? facebook keep’s asking me
Well as I am on their page surely they can see
I am sitting in my home on my laptop
Looking to see what new things they have got

Informing, amusing comments to keep up with friends
That’s my intention to see what it sends
But I know folk who have reasons to gripe
Because someone said things that were not nice

We know who can see the posts that we send
So remember this before you post anything that
could bring a friendship to end
It’s a nice social tool if you use it the right way
It can make the difference between a nice or sad day

So the next time you click on your facebook page
Don’t do it if you are in a temper to rage
Remember to read what you write before you press send
and I am sure you will then keep every facebook friend
